With a tag costing just 3 cents (USD$) AIPIA (Active and Intelligent Packaging Industry Association) Member Talkin’Things is introducing a groundbreaking product to RFID & NFC market, it claims. The aim is to make wide implementation of this technology into mass market FMCG goods a reality.

The new tag has been made available due to in-depth analysis and optimization of all tag production processes, according to the company. Proprietary antenna design along with virtual modelling and comprehensive testing allow for uncompromised performance, it says. A vital element in this development is the use of its own, new production facility, incorporating the most modern bonding and converting machines to ensure outstanding quality and high yield, explains Talkin’ Things.

The offer includes 23 x 17mm ISO 14443 HF NFC smart labels (wet inlay) at $0.03, ISO 15693 at $0.04. The UHF RFID tags are now available for as low as $0.027. Full specifications with performance test reports are available on request. A dry inlay option is also available.

“With this offer we are making a huge step towards bringing smart packaging to millions of everyday products. We have strong confidence to continue this journey to achieve our $0,01/tag goal in 2025.” says Marcin Pilarz, CEO of Talkin’ Things.

With its new production facility located in Warsaw, Poland the company is able not only to offer a cost advantage but also competitive lead times, by minimizing transport distances within Europe and globally, which has been badly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Talkin’ Things Design Lab is available to assist customers to evaluate and select the right product for particular business cases and product types – including a custom tag and hardware design as well as full end-to-end implementation.

Samples are available very soon and will be sent on request. A form is already online for ordering samples HERE.
